Some of the most coveted Miami Luxury Real Estate can be found in the prestigious island community of Indian Creek. Located in Biscayne Bay just west of Surfside, this secluded village has long been the haven for some of the world’s richest denizens.
In fact, a recent study by Zillow, a leading online real estate database, identified Indian Creek as THE wealthiest community in the country: the average price of a home on the island’s sole road is $21.4 million. As The Miami New Times reported:
That’s considerably more expensive than second place Beverly Park Circle out in Beverly Hills, California where celebs likes Eddie Murphy and Denzel Washington live in a comparative shanty town where the average home is only worth $16.2 million.
Of course, its not exactly a secret that the island village of Indian Creek right off of Miami Beach is a multi-millionaire and billionaire haven. Billionaire businessmen like Norman Braman and Carl Ichan call it home, as do both Iglesiases, Julio and Enrique, and Sabado Gigante host Don Francisco. In fact, four of America’s 500 richest people have homes (or at least second homes) on the island.
Given all that, it is no surprise that the most expensive real estate transaction in Miami-Dade County history involved a custom-built Indian Creek residence that soles for an incredible $47 million. Such a groundbreaking achievement would be unheard of in even the most upscale communities, yet it is par for the course in this luxury village.
Another Miami street made the cut, too: Arvida Parkway in Coral Gables, which made tenth place with an average home price of $11.2 million. Part of the prestigious Gables Estates community, it has been home to celebrities like NBA Hall of Famer Alonzo Mourning and Miami Heat President Pat Riley.
